Only the best cotton will do.
The high quality of Baubridge & Kay’s fabric is achieved through a mixture of tradition and technology. The company works with its Italian mill suppliers to maximise potential and to utilise the most advanced production systems.
The preferred weave of Baubridge & Kay is two-fold, which features strongly in its shirt collections.
Two-fold cotton is made using a process in which each thread in the weave is made from two individual strands, which are twisted together or “folded” to give extra strength without added bulk. The result is a superfine cloth with a luxurious and silky feel.
It is also valued for its improved fabric regularity and the fact that it is flexible enough for its special effects to be included in its weaving.
The Fine Details
Cross Stitched Buttons
Cross-stitching ensures that the thread does not unravel on your Baubridge & Kay buttons. A spare button is also provided (just in case).

French Seams
French seams provide a clean, professional finish. Baubridge & Kay utilises the traditional tailoring methods that are often overlooked and yet make all the difference when it comes to durability and quality.

Matching Stripes and Checks
All of the stripes and checks on Baubridge & Kay shirts are flawlessly matched, even on split yokes and at shoulder/sleeve seams. This ensures that the shirt is true to its design and presents a quality finish.
Split Yoke and Box Pleat
Baubridge & Kay uses this traditional method to achieve a perfect fit. Every set of shoulders is different, and the split yoke or box pleat ensures a comfortable, elegant wear.
German Fusing in the Collar and Cuffs
This method is used in Baubridge & Kay’s Shirt Collections to ensure long-lasting collars and cuffs. It is achieved through steam-fusing an expensive backing fabric to the collar to create a clean finish with no bubbles. All of our men’s shirts are sold with detachable collar bones.
